Obituary: James Bratton “Jim” Tucker, 55, of Asheville died on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Mission Hospital, Memorial Campus.
He was born November 21, 1954 and was the son of Vera Williams Tucker and the late Joseph Ramsay Tucker, both of Columbia, SC. He graduated from Dreher High School in 1973.
He was employed at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa and was a member of The Cathedral of All Souls.
Surviving are his life partner, Randy Greene of Asheville; sister, Vera S. Tucker of Columbia, SC; brothers, W. Ramsay Tucker and his wife, Kristine of Chapin, SC and Bratton H. Tucker and his wife, Robin of Anderson, SC; nephews, Evan and Daniel Tucker of Chapin, SC and nephew, Rollins Tucker and niece, Paige Pickens of Anderson, SC.
Services will be held at 2:00p.m Saturday, February 27, 2010 at The Cathedral of All Souls.
Jim will be greatly missed by his family, friends and co-workers. He always had an exceptionally upbeat and positive attitude that was contagious. Jim’s distinguished singing voice and passion for playing the guitar was enjoyed by many. He will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him and through the four people who received his donated organs. The family would like to thank the staffs at Mission Hospital, Grove Park Inn and LifeShare for their compassion, care and support.
