Howard Parlee “ Sunlion” (Inner Realms) passed through the veil to the spirit world of Wakan Tanka, “The Great Mystery”, on March 3, 2010, after a courageous battle with Brain Cancer. Born August 9, 1952 in St. Albans, N.Y. to Harold Parlee and Anna Spinelli. He was a resident of Asheville, NC, as well as, St. Petersburg, FL and Hilton Head, SC.
Howard strongly resonated with Native American Culture.
Survived by his son, from his first marriage of 5 years to Candy Parlee, Derek Parlee, of Tampa, FL; daughter, from his second marriage of 22 years to Daun Murphy, Katie Parlee, of Asheville, NC; loving partner of 8 years, Debbie Vaala; and loving friend and caregiver, Tina Gilland.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2010 @ 2 PM at John F. Keever Center Chapel- 21 Belvedere Rd., Asheville, NC 28803. Sevice being officiating by Buddy Corbin- Hospice Chaplain.
